Summer has arrived! The weather has finally turned from cold and rainy to warm and sunny. The forecast is calling for a nice summer so hopefully this is just the beginning.
July and August are quickly booking up as the weeks progress. We are almost sold out for the July 22 – 24 weekend, so don’t delay if you are thinking of booking during this time.

The Golf course is looking fantastic (especially after all the rain we had!) and the Clubhouse restaurant is open from 12noon until 6:30pm. With an outdoor patio and a killer view it is the best place for a beer and sandwich.

Our newest addition to the Resort is a Bed and Breakfast called Inn at Humber Valley. It is a 4-bedroom property located at 2 Hillside Drive. This is a fantastic compliment to the chalets for those who only want to stay one night or are not looking to rent an entire chalet. So far they have had a fantastic June and have already sold out a few dates in July. Check them out at www.innathumbervalley.com , they have Golf packages, special offers and you can even book online.

We hope to welcome you this summer. If you have already booked, we are looking forward to seeing you and if you haven’t yet… what are you waiting for? We have something for everyone including festivals, activities, beaches, wildlife, live music and a whole lot more.

Welcome Spring! The flowers are starting to bloom, the birds are chirping frantically, and the brown is slowly starting to change to green. Such a wonderful time of year and it couldn’t be more beautiful and serene than here in the Wilderness of Humber Valley.

Wow! Victoria Day Weekend is here already! This is the time that usually marks the change over from Spring into the busy Summer season and gets people thinking about vacations and holidays and making plans for fun and adventure in Western Newfoundland.

There are so many things to see and do that the question is not “what are we gonna’ do?” But “what can I fit in with the time that I have?”

Trails, Tails and Tunes 5th Annual Fesitval (May 14-28) is in full swing in Gros Morne with the beautiful town of Norris Point as the host of this popular event. If music, arts and entertainment get your senses reeling, there is no better way to spend your Victoria Day long weekend. I hear there is lots of “sunshine” in the forecast!

We’ve got the Feather and Folk Nature Festival (May 27-June 9) on the South West Coast of Newfoundland for the bird watchers and nature lovers alike.

A Spring in your Step celebrating the outdoors (June 9-12) in the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley to enjoy walks and hikes for the whole family.

The Iceberg Fesitval (June 10-19) on the Great Northern Peninsula to experience nature walks, hikes, boat tours, cultural exhibitions and traditional music and cuisine.
For more information, check out these sites www.trailstalestunes.ca or www.springfest.ca .

And for the avid golfers, don’t forget the fabulous (18-hole) Championship Golf Course. The course is scheduled to open for business on May 21st and welcome the golfers to come and swing a few clubs.

Have and Happy and Safe Victoria Day Weekend and we welcome you to check out our beautiful wilderness in Humber Valley…………See you soon!

It was hard to match our very busy skiing and snowmobiling month of February in Humber Valley, but you know folks we are in Newfoundland and if there one thing that I know for sure about our winters is that they can certainly carry over well into the Spring season! And with that our March in Humber Valley came with plenty of “the white stuff” to keep us busy and hopping with fun and excitement………..

“Snow West 2011” was a huge success!! From March 17-20 here in Humber Valley, Marble Mountain and Corner Brook it was a pretty happening and exciting few days. With everything from ski competitions, snowshoeing, caving, zip lining, dog sledding, and tubing/tobogganing the place was abuzz with Action, Action and more Action! The Comedy Club at Jennifer’s with Snook, John Sheehan and Brian Aylward was a side-splitting event that brought a packed house and the Dinner Theatre with Don Dunphy (Wow! He is one talented man) and his group was another packed house with an evening of fabulous food and awesome entertainment. If you missed out on this one folks you can catch it in 2012, as the plan is to make it an annual event.

If you are still in ski/snowboard-mode not to worry, as Marble Mountain still has all of their runs open with some great conditions. The mountain is scheduled to close on April 10th, but if Mother Nature decides that we still need more snow the close date will be extended until April 17th. So keep those skis and snowboards waxed and come on out and enjoy!

As Spring comes into bloom we see Humber Valley slowly waking from its winter nap to show its colour and beauty in readiness for the busy Summer ahead with the excellent golfing on our championship Golf Course and the many upcoming Weddings, Reunions and Family gatherings.

Have a fabulous Easter everyone! And remember….we have lots of wonderful hiding places here, so feel free to come spend your Holiday time in the Valley with us, your family and friends and of course the Easter Bunny, too! Until next time……….

Wow! Did we get a tonne of snow this month or what? What a great time to be in the Wilderness setting of Humber Valley. It sure made for some happy, winter fun-loving customers and it most definitely kept us busy and on our toes.

Marble Mountain had some fantastic ski days since February came in. Any customer that stayed in our vacation homes in Humber Valley had absolutely “rave reviews” in regards to their ski experience at Marble. “It could not have been better” they say…. “We’ll be back again for sure.”

In actual fact, many of the folks that came and stayed with us for a few days in February for either skiing or snowmobiling have planned to come back again for another go-round in March. We’re looking forward to your re-visit!

It is great to see our annual clients back again this year for another awesome ski vacation to spend a week or two with us and also it was great to welcome our first-time winter travellers to Humber Valley and Marble Mountain to experience the awesome winter scenes and sporting events that we can offer them.

The start of Corner Brook Winter Carnival in Mid February certainly caused a “flurry” of activity in the area. It was one of our busiest weekends of the year with record amounts of snowfall in such a short period of time and we sure felt it. At the same time it was totally awesome. We saw everything from beautiful and crisp sunny days that intrigue you to go on a winter adventure to freezing cold with high winds and mountains of snow to make you want to curl up in front of the fireplace under a snugly blanket and a good book. Either way, you gotta’ love it the Winter offerings in Humber Valley and surrounding areas.
On March 1st we are already looking back with nostalgia and calling it our most “Fabulous February”. How about that? GREAT!!

We are looking forward to Meandering March with lots of snowmobile and ski weekends and certainly the “Snow West” Festival for the weekend of March 17, 2011. Stay tuned for the March reviews.
